Interest in a 2k2 Y-pipe????!!!!

I'm working with a shop around me to try and get a y-pipe on my car this week and then i will dyno. It will be stainless steel and tig welds. i'm unsure on pricing yet but i want to go for around 300 bucks no more then like 325. i just want to get an idea of how many i should consider having made up. just let me know if you would prolly buy one before say the end of the year. and if i had a intro group deal maybe??? just post your thoughts here.

Two questions:

dmbmaxima2k2:

1. Your dyno numbers in your sig, are they stock, if not, what mods?

2. Is it possible to wrap the Ypipe with some sort of insulating tape that would isolate the sound some bit in the cabin? I ask this because I heard a 2k1 with a Ypipe from inside the cabin, I could just hear engine noise. I wonder if that could be rectified by using tape. I like my quite cabin, as far as engine noise goes. I don't mind sound from out back, through the exhaust if you know what I mean. What do you think?

Depending on your success (Dyno and no SES light) with your Ypipe mod, I'd probably be interested.

I hope your successful. Definetly don't wanna replace the manifold just to add a Ypipe.

i'd be interested in both.

of course, i'd have to wait for your dyno before i make a decision on the y pipe.

With dyno proven gains...I am intrested. I think if the gains are good you wont have a problem selling them, by the time the new 04 comes out there will be alot of 3.5's around.

if the shortshifter was of highquality and under $100, Id get it real quick.
As long as the ypipe had dyno provin gains, and doesnt cause problems (ses lights etc.) Id buy one for under $400

1st let me start off by saying I really truely hope you get decent gains out of this.

Are you planning on removing the precats or increasing the diameter of the pipe?

If you can get 15+hp from more than 1 car I'd be in.

SmokinOdum those rims look sweet. Thats exactly the look I'm after.

I'd seriously consider both depending on the test results. Keep us in touch with your findings!

If there are gains proven with a dyno I am definitely in.

Like many others, I would be down for this if there are proven gains, good quality w/no fitment issues, and a good price.

project priorities

Steve,

Of course I would be interested in a 2002 Y-Pipe and STS, but I am also interested in the other projects you have mentioned fleetingly over the past months. I guess my guestion is, if we are still waiting for the intake heatshield, intake cold air tubing, and catback exhaust should I really expect a short throw shifter and y-pipe to happen anytime in the near future? I hate to sound critical but I just hate to get my hopes up without good reason. Even though I am an injen intake owner I know how popular your intake has been and do appreciate all the time investment and effort on your part.

WSP pipe installed today. As the car is still learning, it is pulling much better now. I can't wait till it fully adapts. Steve you have your work cut out to make a good pipe, but Frankencar products are top notch already so I am sure you will do a good job on the 2k2 Y-pipe.

best of luck!

the intake heatshields have a little more of a story behind them. but the catbacks are almost done. they have been engineereed and they are starting to make them i should have one to put on my car soon then i will start making them and hold an introductory sale for them, maybe 450 is we get 10 people i can't believe i'm gonna go that low but i will.

I would definitely be interested in the Ypipe and STS. Of course, that's depending on quality, fitment and proven HP gains withstanding.

Put me on the list for everything - whenever it happens! STS, cat-back, Y-pipe, heatshield.
