So what kind of gains do this actually give? Would it be worth it over my RT cat?

A test pipe with built in cutout would be the ticket for track. Add one of these http://www.mccordcg.com/mpp/pictures.htm and you really have a trick piece.

2k2_6spd and I made an ooglie test pipe over the weekend. All we did was remove the cat and bang the hell out of all the porcelain inside of it. It took about 30 minutes of banging with the end of a crowbar, but it is perfectly hollow now.

Results: It is pretty loud and hollow. I already ordered the RT one to replace it.

I have a 2k1 5spd and won't be boosting. What size of cat do I need?

I assume it is 2.25 or 2.5? Don't know unless I take it off right?

You got me....

Personally, I think that any performance gains are not worth the noise......
