steering wheel hamburger logo

I've got a 2k1 and on the steering wheel it has that embossed nissan logo, but I wanted to put a plastichrome one right over it. Like I've seen on the 2k2+ models and other Nissans. Anyone know if there's one that would fit perfectly on that spot on the GXE wheel? Thanks

I think I saw somewhere that the airbag is around $800.00. not a viable route just to get an emblem...

I'm sure you can buy just the 2k2 airbag cover.

Or how about these:

Ask Y2KevSE where he got them.

Yeah, those steering wheels are a billion dollars if I remember right. All that airbag stuff and what not. You pay a dealer a million to install it wouldn't you? Would the cruise functions and all that work? What would a ballpark figure be?

So if it's possible to switch out airbag covers with the 2k2, is that an expensive thing? Feels like you could pry it off real easy, but I wasn't going to try. I have the frost interior and thought the black cover would be smooth. Any thoughts?

I got one on my steeringwheel. I went to the dealer and bought the actual emblem that goes on the front grill cut the two little tabs on the back of it. Then i took a heat gun and applied heat to the sticky part of it and it was all good.

Peace

Wow, I'll take some measurements and see what I can find out. I'd want it to fit right over the embossed one on the wheel. The airbag cover would be cool though.

I hate to bust your bubble, but as a former airbag test technician, I can tell you that an emblem glued to the cover would become a nice projectile, Remember that the ones that come on the covers are designed to be like that. If you really want to change it, have it painted silver by one of those pinstripe guys, or you might end up with a Nissan emblem mounted square in your forehead

I just measured, what we'd need would be a logo that is 2" wide and 1.5" high. I'd be willing to glue one on, but if the cover from the 2k2 isn't an arm and a leg, I'd rather get on a them. Prices, thoughts?

Anyone know how much the steering wheel covers cost for the 2k2 and if they'd fit the same? I'd consider that if I could do it myself that is. Also, no one seems to sell the smaller emblems. I can only find the 3.5" for sale, when we'd need a 2" for the wheel

Try the ones that are on the 1st Gen Altima. As I recall, they are pretty small.

Update, I just found out that the Altima logos are 2.25" and the one on the wheel is 2" so it's pretty close. I may try it, but they are 24 bucks from the dealer. Ouch! I'd like to find one that's 2.0" instead though. Any thoughts? Or thoughts about what else would look good in that spot? Something round like the z logo or what not

thats expensive for a logo..but you have to pay for what you really desire. IMHO putting a Z logo there is like putting a NSX Emblem on an Accord.

How about a VQ Logo? If anyone knows where to get these..tell me! I want to put it on the trunk of my car. (great..now I feel like those Honda guys putting a VTEC sticker on their car) But wait...at least VQ has power.
