Y2KSESteve you are wrong. when i went in 2000 to buy my first 5th gen the dealer had both SE's with 17" and 16". Your 2000 max came with 16", because of the package you got, but there were some SE convienience packages that had 17" in the year 2000.

Umm I have the SE, and they are the 5 spoke rims which came with the SE, so no.

I believe the wheels were as follows for both 2000 and 2001:

SE (Stock): 16 x 6.5; 5 Lugs; 4-1/2" BP; 5-spoke
SE (Comfort & Convienence): 17 x 7; 5 Lugs; 4-1/2" BP; 6-spoke w/center cap

I have a stock 2001 SE and I have the 5-spoke 16" wheels. To this day, I wish I had dished out the extra money for the C&C package to get the bigger wheels and some of the other goodies. Oh well.

The stock 17's were late availability for the 2k's.... but the 2k maximas did have them... The 17's are 6 spoke and the 16's are 5 spoke.

I have a 2K SE w/16" wheel, and I'm glad I have the 16's vs. the 17's because they're lighter then the 17's, less unsprung weight and less rotational mass. There have been other threads discussing the weight difference of the 16's vs. 17's, Search.

Yes...I am guessing you don't have a sunroof, Homelink transmitter, or a driver side power seat either, right?

Base SE: 16" 5 spoke wheels
SE with Comfort and Convenience package: 17" 6 spoke wheels, Homelink, power seat, sunroof.

IF, you wanted to go with eBay, here's one you might want to consider...

Good luck. Peace.

Not true, I have a 2k Se that was built late in the year and it has 17" rims. There was a switch to the 17"s late in the model year.

The C&C package had 16" 5-spoke wheels early on, then 17" 6-spoke wheels (late availability). I have a 2000 SE with C&C (sunroof, power driver's seat, etc), 16" 5-spoke wheels, no leather.

I'm lost - are we saying there were 17" 5 and 6 spoke wheels?

Either way, I do have the 17's on the SE, and car has a build date of Dec. '99, so I'd say that wasn't too late of a 2000 build.

No, the 17" wheels are 6-spoke only. The 16" wheels are 5-spoke only.

I bought mine in July 1999, and only 16" 5-spoke wheels were available then.
