Is the intercooler piping included? Or will you have to get it custom bent and what not? Ive been looking at doing that on my s/c but I think you need to cut some bracing up front to make room for the piping.

Have you checked to see what the PSI loss on that intercooler is?

SC is belt driven to get the turbine spinning to get boost which uses HP.

Turbo is known to be more efficient because it gets the turbines spinning inside using exhaust gas exiting the engine, which in a sense is FREE HP. Only problem with Turbo is a lag for it to get spinning at top speed to get full boost. But now a days that is not that big of a deal with new technology and smaller turbos putting out good amounts of boost.

I know it may sound stupid, but http://www.howstuffworks.com/turbo.htm Shows a beautiful explanation on it for you people who have no idea.

Couldnt tell ya the difference power-wise...I hear turbo gives more, but it runs off the air from the exhaust which is why it has a lag. The supercharger is belt driven so you get instant power. Theres a lot im missing, so add on anyone!

I want one too. can I have one or you the only one that can have one. How much is it costing? when's the kit available. will it work with auto. But wait I can't afford one so I won't get one.

It is a 4th gen kit that Nigel is selling in that thread in the GD forum.

I know I just didn't think they had the 5th gen ready yet.
If I get enough cash from grandma this year I will think about it.

It just requires some customization on the piping side of the kit.

Yes, the IC piping is included (along with the exhaust piping).

If I loose PSI from the IC, I'll just turn up the boost.

JD: What you got
KW: intakes and spark plugs
JD: where’s the good stuff
KW: this is the good stuff
JD: yeah you need superchargers, turbos, Limited slip limited not with or without the short throw kit. Your whistling blow off valves, cat-backs, nos kits, body kits all the carbon fiber $hit.
KW: nope just intakes and spark plugs
JD: Your going stand there telling me you don’t have any of this. Or flywheels big wheels light wheels indiglo gauges, gauge pods meters, Chips, spoilers, intercoolers, headers, headlights, taillights, coilovers.
KW: Nope intakes and spark plugs it’s only what I like.
JD: well that’s your problem.
It's not what you like, it's the consumer.

Hey Kev,

I understand how you can turn up the boost from the SC( pulley size), but how do you turn up the boost with turbo.

No need to hassle with taking the SC off and putting it back on. A boost controller will allow you to adjust boost with a turn of a **** (or a few clicks).

It's not installed yet, so you can still jack it.

BTW, this version of the kit will not fit the automatic without major changes to the exhaust piping.

You'll see SC dyno numbers before turbo dyno numbers. I bought the shoulder pads while I was in Hong Kong, but I know they're available here also. Check Nopi or Summit Racing.

Hey Kev,

When are they mass producing the 5th Gen Kit? The difference to me between SC & Turbo is huge. I know from having driven an SC'd car for a while now and driving in my friends turbo'd XR4TI! I have waay more HP than him but because he has the low end torque that the turbo provides, his car is much quicker than mine. Just look at past Dyno numbers. Kev's, JHans114, Turbo97se,... with an SC the difference bewteen FWHP & Torque is like 40 points! Where as the difference between FWHP & Torque on a turbo'd car is only a few points... check Nigel's numbers to see when he dyno'd his turbo... it was something like 371fwhp & 369lbs torque... POWER YOU CAN FEEL. I want turbo man!

ANYWAY.... Kev I want it. When is it coming out or should we expect to just customize the 4th Gen kit w/ somecustom piping which should'nt be a big deal anyway.

I know I am not Kev, But yesterday I saw them at my dealer (stevens Creek Nissan) when i picked my car up from service. I bet if you did a search on here you would find other places that carry them.

Hey Kev

Will the turbo need a turbo timer?? A friend of mine has a 300ZX twin turbo and has one. I was just wondering if just having one turbo would require a timer. Also he has a boost controller that he has mounted on his dash under his radio. He has this one If I remember right he can adjust it from no boost to whatever the hightest boost is. The last time I rode in his car it was set at 14 PSI. You ever think of getting one of these??

I don't know when the kit is coming out, but I know I don't want to wait until that happens. If you're willing to take a chance, buy the 4th gen kit and customize it yourself.

You don't "need" a turbo timer, but it is recommended..... you can always sit and wait while the car is on for a minute or so. Yes, I'm going to get a boost controller (the one you linked to is the A'PEXi AVC-R). I have my eyes on the Blitz SBC-iD.

So you prefer the Blitz over the A'PEXi. Is it b/c of the features or the look of it??

I've read about many boost creep problems with the AVC-R. I would like to go with the AVC-R to match the RSM and AFC... oh well.
