you cant set it to no boost. you can only turn up the boost higher than what the wastegate is set at.. and you dont need a turbo timer.. you can wait in your car for a minute if u want.

 

i am usually just on time to catch my train in the morning.. i really don't have time to wait 1 min..

5 minutes as you like? Wouldn't that imply you actually had a turbo installed to actually facilitate a need to cool down said turbines? Do you post just for the sake of posting? For members who are actually trying to learn something and not front and posture, it really sucks having to wade through a BUNCH of lies, weak emoticon "replies" or one liners. SO who makes a Turbo Timer for the Maxima. Is the ECU smart enough to leave the car running with Nissan's alarm or I gotta rig that tooo? Man I think If you are Boosting and using the bottle, You are gonna need more then 1 minute cool time.

Kev, You sure the Lag is 4000RPM? Usually on the T04 tubos, its more like 2800-3100 range.

As for the boost controller, how much boost are you planning on running? The AVC-R is a pretty stable boost controller. I had a HKS EVC-IV, Kept hitting Boost spikes with it, Set it to 13psi, that $hit would spike to 17Psi and then come back to 13 ... So I got rid of that thing. Why not make a Manual boost controller just for starters to see how much the VQ can run.

That Turbo, Ceramic, BB or Oil/water cooled? how much?

 

I am not sure if anyone makes a custom one for the maxima.. i have the Blitz Turbo Timer.. i had to splice 3 wires under my steering column (thanks to harold) and that was it.. mounted it and it was good.. i checked blitz site and seem they have harness for the big dogs.. like the 3000GT, Supra and the 300ZX

I am running 8 PSI for right now.. and later i will get a boost controoler.. most boost contolers have the ability to set a maximum and minimum boost..

 

so whats the max boost the VQ will run? What Turbo does the VQ30DE-T run? anyone know?

That 60 Trim salad shooter is pretty huge though

 

nigel is currently at 11 PSI.. i guess he got a motor lined up so he will let you know shortly

1/4 mile wise? i don't know if anyone has run them.. PSI wise? they have 9:1 compression so they should be able to take it past nigel's 11 with ease.. but i can't say for sure.. Tilley has the VQ30DET so check with him on max PSI

thats only the Turbo Timer.. i didn't buy the boost controllre yet.. the dash is messed up from when they broke into my car and fcked up the whole console.. i have to go buy a whole full one now
