Titanium thread beat to death
Titanium thread beat to death
I know I know, I looked for some time for the info, but here it is so we can beat it to death for everyone.
I ordered some chrome rings for my GXE guages, which I think will be tight. I like the black, but wondered what it would take to get the 02 titanium guages working and such? Switch out the cluster (prob won't work anyway I'd guess) or what. I know I have an 01 and the tach guage window wouldn't match, but I'd love to have them just for kicks or have someone make something similar. Any thoughts, other than "shut up jacka$$"
Hehe, thanks all

That's why he's trying to retro fit the titanium gauges.
it might work but i dont know if the circuit board will work with the 02's gauges. like u said u wont have use of the other gauge but the others might work depending on the connections. i myself did the SE gauge swap and they have worked fine but i would have to look at the 02 connections to even know if it works or not. the only prob i had to install these gauges was swapping the circuit boards since they hold the mileage.
Yeah, it would be sweet to try, I've got 15,400 on my odo now. I'm sure the guage cluster would be much more money and time than its worth, but damn it sounds cool. If I hadn't started all my mods on this ride, I'd consider getting an 02. Not that I like the front grill any at all.

I just called about buying the guage cluster straight up. They said they would make you sign a paper attesting to your odo reading, then set it from the factory so that's no problem. It's only 250 bones too. Didn't ask if it would work on the 01s though, someone might know.

That is incorrect. I have a 2001 SE and I have the "titanium" instrument panel. I have not changed them, they are stock. This is in reference to the face of the gauge, not the rings or anything else. Its not white. It is a silvery color. Whether that silvery color is sterling mist, titanium, nickel...who the heck knows. But it is for sure not white.

BTW, this individual might want to look into possible issues when he sells the car with a "changed" odometer. Might not bother us, but even with correct paper work it bugs others. BUt then again he might drive it til it dies...in which it doesn't matter anyway.
