e-brake discussion

i notice that mie squeaks a lot, and i was reading the 2k2 owners manual and it said if your ebrake doesnt click 10-14 times you should take it into the dealer...well i went and tried it and i could barelly get ten clicks.. could some of you fellow 2k2 owners try this and share the results. i know its kind of a stupid topic but ebrakes are very important!

Well, one thing i noticed about e-brakes. 10-12 clicks isn't always a good indication if it's working right or not.

If you'll notice, depending on your dealership, after the 7.5k mile (or was it 12.5k?) they adjust the brakes and both the pedal as well as the e-brake will feel tighter. It won't go as many clicks either, yet it holds just the same.

Aint it better to have it engage with less clicks? I dont like to have it go all the way up.

I dont know whats that got to do with the squeaking.

If the rear brakes on the max are similar to most other rear discs, they are self-adjusting. Everytime you crank the ebrake you adjust the brakes a little bit.
