Re: Injen and other intakes, when servicing, switch bk to OEM??

I'm finally goin' Injen next week and just want to get a consensus of what you guys who have Injen and other intakes are doing when you go to dlr for service, (oil chg's, etc.) I believe that debatably "the law" is that dlr has to prove that the "mod caused said damage" in order to void warranty. However, I don't want to give my dealer ANY ammo in voiding my extended-warranty.

Are you gonna go bk to stock every time you go to the dealer, or just when necessary?

ive gone back on a few occasions and i have yet to remove anything that i dont want them to see. ive got pretty good rapport with the two dealerships that i deal with. both places compliment me on it and the mechanics say how nice of a change it is.

I'm curious as well. I go to the dealer for all of my oil changes and I'm wondering if that's an issue.

I go to the dealer all the time with mods intact to get service and they say nothing, and actually they show off my car to other maxima drivers when the service is done.

Given your statement "I don't want to give my dealer ANY ammo in voiding..." you have to go back to stock. The first MAF failure you get and they will be pointing at the intake (regardless of whether the intake caused it or not). I'm not trying to get into the do intakes cause MAF failures debate. I'm just pointing out that you've already made your decision. Some people may have a good enough (or believe they have a good enough) relationship with their dealerships not to have to worry. You don't sound like you are in that category.

I brought my car in for service with intake, and all they said was "I see you're hot-doggin' it" They didn't care

My dealership didn't care either. I spoke to them before I even started modding and they said they have to prove a part caused a problem before they can say anything.

The Service Manager said he would love to have his guys install a Super Charger or Turbo when my warantee was gone.
