i saw this red vr6, 2 door coming up fast next to me, so at the light i wanted to race him. but it turns out a maxima was in the left lane, so i had to stay behind him. i had a friend in the car and the light turns green. he takes off and i try to reel him in, but i wasnt gaining on him till about 65 then he let off, cuz he knew i was gonna go past him. now i wasnt flooring it, but i gave it about 80%. and plus i was behind him at the light and didnt take of right away, so maybe thats y i didnt reel him in earlier. he was ****ed to say the least, he tailgated me at the next light, then floored it past me and i smiled at him. he had exhaust and i know when we raced he floored it because some smoke came out of his exhaust after 2 shifts, he was a stick also. assuming i was next to him at the light and i went wot on him, would he have ever been ahead of me? im a 2k2 se auto.

unless he was chipped with some more mods he would not have beaten you. he may beat you off the line, cuz he was stick but after 30mph you would fly by

"Fly-by" after 30mph? A properly driven gti vr6 with mods would beat a stock 2k2 auto especially on the highway.

3.0 maxs did, the 3.5ltr makes got more low end grunt. I don't see how a VR6 could ever beat a maxima.

BS on this race ! My friend just bought one and we raced 4 times. I smoked his slow a$$ every time by at least 2 cars. That must have been a modded VW..... They have a good aftermarket , unlike us.

he must have hooked it up alot. i wasnt wot and plus he had about a second head start because i wasnt sure if he was gonna go or not. i thought i would be bale to reel him in no prob, but i guess not.

my friend has a 95 vr-6 and i am an auto 97; max with cai and i can beat him sometimes, hes 5speed so always pulls of the line, but i can catch up pretty well. so i am thinking that a stock 2k2 would smoke it

2001SE

a good driver does 0-60 on a VR6 in about 6.5 seconds
they have a lot of low end torque, so off the line you don't stand a chance in auto. a stock VR6 should stay with an well driven auto 2k2...they both do the same time

there isn't a whole lot you can do to a VR6 , it comes modified pretty much from the factory. all NA mods won't do a whole lot...maybe bring it down to 6 flat after a chip,intake and exhust.

I have a friend with a 2k GTI VR6 with full catback exhaust, wai intake, Auto Authority chip, MAF screen removed and all the suspension upgrades you could imagine. I absolutely kill him every time we race at the track. I beat him in the 1/8 by almost a full second and all I have is a Berk Intake.
