Auto Climate Control...

I don't like to open up the windows but when outside temp is very cool, such as below 68 degree, what do you guys usually do? turn off the a/c or adjust the temp even lower than the outside temp or any other way? I always set at 75 degree, but it blows hot air if outside is much cooler than that.

The manual says the "econ" is for heater, and the dealer told me it turns off the compressor. What is your experience? How can I simply circulate the outside air w/o using the a/c?

Thanks!!

the compressor runs ALL the time. Hot or cold to dehumidify. The ECON allows you to set the temp without the compressor running.

Obviously the car wouldn't be able to cool lower than it is outside

Use ECON it draws in outside air if the RECIRC light is off. I use it all the time.

The problem is that the ECON setting only allows you to have output through the foot vents. I like air through the dash vents.

I actually prefer the manual climate control from my AE (no leather package). It was so much easier to use.

Don't like to roll the windows down WTF j/k. I love to cruz with the windows down, but if I have a girl in the car then I just use the auto climate control.

I use ECON all the time with the dash vents - but I also usually have the temp down low (Around 70) Depending on outside temp, it'll kick to the foot vents or dash vents. If you want it up top, just kick it over to manual with econ on and move it to the dash vents.

Sometimes I just put the econ on 65, manual, dash vents with the fan on 1 setting just to keep air moving when it's cold out.

If you hit the mode button you can put the air where ever you like. I have found that if you turn it off it still blows a little air at your feet. I normally wind the windows down, turn off the HVAC, and hit the recerc button to stop the air on my feet.

As soon as I hit the mode button, the ECON light turns off and the compressor kicks in. I can only get ECON with the floor vents??????

I don't like to run the AC in the winter (just if it's really needed). I like the floor/defrost setting with no AC. I can't get that to work though...

What am I doing wrong????

If the temp is in the 60's-80's I usually have the window down or partly down. When it gets warmer than that AC and below that Unless its freezing I just drive with the windows up no heat or air.
