I'll be nice some others may not. Use the search function on the top of the page to find out more info on this subject, but the short answer is it will not be worth it. I was a newbie at one time and got flamed for questions like this, next time just make sure u search. This website has vast vast amounts of info.

I've had a friend who added A/C to his car.
It was $1400 from the dealer

If u already searched and made a good attempt at it tell us. Second alot of newbies don't know to use the search at first, which I did once. Third when u are lazy and put a thread up it takes up space on the server and slows down the site.

Did any one ever figure out how to install an auto a/c unit on 5.5gen's with the manual a/c's standard on it? I've done some searching on the forums but I couldn't find any info on it. Maybe i'm using the wrong terms?

You can't put a Auto (digital) AC in a Max that had manual. You would have to get a bunch of sensors, ECM reprogrammed, among other things.
