I had the infamous warped rotors that caused my car to vibrate during high speed braking. This morning my Nissan dealer replaced the front rotors and everything is back to normal. I was suprised they didn't replace the pads. (It doesn't show up on my sheet.) I guess the pads didn't need it, since I only have 12,600 miles on my car.

So the warranty items I've had fixed in the last year are:

1) New Transmission Control Module (TCM)
2) Bumper realignment to stop paint wear from trunk lid
3) Rotor replacement

Mines in for brakes today. They're turning the rotors and replacing the pads and shims. If the problem comes back, I'll make them replace the rotors.

I've tried TCM and get the standard "we couldn't repro it" I'm trying to decided whether its worth fighting.

They're also supposed to do the bumper clips today too.

brakes

I just got new brakes and rotors in September and they started making groaning noises. Turned out the pad in the rear had a crack in them. Crappy Reybestos...

Sorry guys, been on the road. Anyway when they called me to tell me my car was done, they explained that the trunk clips are on national back order (no sh*t) kinda sad that a buncha fools on the Internet know more about the problems with the cars than the hosers that actually work on them. So anyway, like several other people out there, I am waiting on the clips. I'll fill you in when I get the work done.

I called my dealership on Friday to ask for an update and they said my clips have been in for 3 weeks and they were wondering why I hadn't contacted them yet. Umm..am I mind reader - I think they should have called me. Anyway, I am scheduled to have it done on Tusday January 2 and I will get it back that Friday (the 5th) because they said they have to send it to a body ahop for painting (they are repainting my whole bumper). But after the post above, I wonder if they ordered the wrong clips - AGAIN. Ugggh.

blackY2Kmax, I've been to the dealership three different times, only to find out:

(a) they didn't have the clips after all (b)
(b) they were sent the wrong parts
(c) they are on backorder

You haven't gone to Regal Nissan, have you?

BTW: The dealer told me it would take a couple days 'cause the bumper would be painted.

Hey guys- After the last go-around about the bumper clips, I ordered some in, they did go on back order, it took about 10 days, but I did get them in. I'll double-check on Tuesday, but if memory serves, the part # is 85284-AD501
(I'm not at work right now). If you guys are having trouble finding them, give me a call or e-mail, I can run a locator & see if a dealership in your area has them.

Dave,

Thanks as always- I might call you on Tuesday and see if you can find out if my dealer truly has them. I appreciate your always being so helpful.

and mdeal..,

No Regal Nissan, and while I don't think that we have too many St. Louis people here, it's a double-edged sword in case anyone is lurking and has questions about St. Louis dealerships. The only dealership that will even touch doing TSB work is Suntrup Nissan, but they seem to be the most incompetent bunch of goons. And now I have the throttle problem (dying when I put it in reverse after a cold start). Will it ever end? Makes me wish I lived in Austin and could go to Dave's dealership for service!!!
