Another successful 100 shot

Got my new fuel system installed last week: FP, FPR, and FP gauge. Put my new jets in yesterday and went to the dyno.

Baseline, I ran 4 HP and TQ higher, due to extra fuel (44psi WOT).

After 5 runs, we got the a/f right. Juiced I gained 80HP at wheels, which is to be expected, since I'm an automatic (loss of about 20%). So, I'm happy with my new numbers 260HP/297TQ.

I'll put in my my more effecient torque converter soon, get a bottle warmer (to stabailize & streghten my shot), and tune w/ the apexi s-afc. Hopefully, I can get closer to the 300HP mark with these upgrades.

I do have one question for the nitrous guys...

I was running 100 PSI @ WOT, and my A/F was basically in the 12-12.6. I know this is a good A/F #; but doesn't my fuel pressure seem a little high for this shot?

way too high.. you should be 85 / 90 PSI.. i know how to tune NOS dry kits.. but i dunno about ZEX kits.. please tell me you are running an upgrade fuel pump..

so zex estimates at the crank and NOS estimates at the wheels.. hmm.. very intersting

No, the Zex number would be at the wheels. I got 80 of the 100 to the wheels; but because I'm an auto I lost 20% (or 20HP) in the tranny. If I was a 5sp. I would have gotten all 100 at the wheels. So, the 100 is at the wheels (but only for a 5sp.).

Yea, I thought the FP was a bit high. (I mentioned my fuel system upgrade in my first paragraph.) Any ideas on why my FP is so high, yet my A/F is fine?

if your FPR is adjustable.. then you might want to adjust it down some.. you are running way to rich

Yes, I can adjust it down; but I thought mid 12's on the A/F number was just right. Is this not correct? If I adjust is down my A/F number will jump up towards leanness.

you wanna talk to Matt ither one of them is fine.. 2k2 or 98 Max Owners.. they will let you know how this will impact your AF.. but your FP is way too high though.. 110 your injectors lock up.. so you are not playing with much here

Hmm, i think Sprint was right the first time around. You're saying Zex #'s is at the wheels, so assuming they claim 100hp then you should get that at the wheels.

Now you're factoring that *maybe* it's because you have an auto and have a 20% loss through the tranny that you're getting 80 out of a 100. If that's the logic behind it, it's like you're also saying the manual tranny doesn't have any power loss through the transmission.

The way i see it, the 100hp is at the crank. Add your 20% loss you get 80hp. For a 5spd they probably have a 12% loss which puts them at 88hp.

That very well could be. Or it could be a 20% loss above and beyond a manual. So that 100 really does make it to the wheels on a 5sp., and then the auto losses an extra 20%-I don't know. Either way, it's really a mute point to me.

I'm more concerned with why I'm at such a high FP, but have a/f that is fine.

I plan to upgrade my NOS jet to 75 shot pretty soon from a 55 shot. I was wonder what kind of fuel pump I would need and where I can get it? Also is there anything else I would need? Thanks in advance

Search the 5th gen forum for "Nitrous"; this question has been posed numerous times. You'll need an upgraded FP, FPR, and gauges (for monitoring). All the detail is out there, within the last 6 months.
