Are rotors under warranty?

Realized after driving the last two weeks that the steering wheel vibrates badly when braking over 65 mph.

Based on my search of this website, the rotors either need replaced or re-surfaced.

Has anyone had this procedure done on their car while it was still under warranty, and if so, what success did you have getting the dealer to do it for free. Cuz I'm having the dealer look at it this weekend, and want to know what I should expect.

thanks.

Thanks man. I'm wondering if anybody's had any problem with a dealer trying to finagle around that TSB though.

Yup, dealer replaced all rotors and pads for nothing, after I gave them a TSB number. All you need is a valid TSB number usually. Do a search on TSB's and you will find tons of em dude.

This reminds me of something Clark Howard (Atlanta talk radio) was saying today: In some states the lemon law applies to ONE round of brake problems. That is, the dealer gets ONE chance to fix breaks correctly on a new car or they are subject to being forced to take the car back and refund the purchasers money. I got to thinking that Nissan would be forced to get their sh|t together concerning brakes if they had to take back a few new Maximas due to brake problems. Georgia has a "three strikes" lemon law, and I am not sure which states have one strike for brake components.

I had them done (under warranty) a 3rd time at about 29-30K. Just make sure that they use the on-car brake lathe. Afterwards, when you get your car home re-torque the lug nuts to spec with a good torque wrench; otherwise you stand a good chance of the rotors warping again.

Good luck,

Good luck,

Should I expect them to replace the rotors and pads or just turn 'em?
Or will they make that decision when they look at it?

The TSP specifically says to turn them ON THE CAR, but if they just replace them with NEW ones, I would think that is even better. Its all up to the particular dealership i think...Just make sure you get ALL new pads also...

I'd rather have new rotors than turned old ones...

I'm a freakin blithering idiot, they should just change the front brake pads correct? Or should they replace both front and back. Thanks for your patience
