Addco, Stillen RSB and the environment
Hey .org,
For the people who have them, can you share info on how the Addco or Stillen RSB has held up against snow/sleet/rain/road salt.
RSB cons so far
Stillen owners:
- wish they came with/could find stainless steel bolts for it (I'm guessing these rusts, can anyone confirm)
- cost! ($239 from stealin)
Addco:
- brackets cause noise in the rear (fixed by sliding brackets in 5")
Also, are these the best price:
$129 cattman (will Greg still give the $115 deal if I mention the org)
$125 custommaxima
$239 Stealin

I can confirm about the Stillen bolts rusting. I am in Southern California and we have not seen much rain since I installed the RSB. And I noticed after about 15k or 20k miles the bolts were rusted. I have not checked the extent of the rust because that would involve taking the bolts off. I will most likely find replacement stainless steel bolts. If you go with that bar, its the only suggestion I have to make. Everything else with it is legit and it performs really well.
Go Cattman, go!
Cattman is still doing the $115 for .org memebers -- got mine a week ago, but not installed yet.....damn hurricanes = still raining here in Atlanta!!!

i have the stillen rsb... they were going for 175 shipped at one time from JR NIssan or something like that.
I've gotten all the exact replica SS bolts needed for the stillen rsb brackets for about 11 bucks shipped from a online company.

Re: Addco, Stillen RSB and the environment
I love the Addcco RSB and have only had it on for about 3 days. The extent of my problems have been not moving the brackets in 5", which I've now done, but also near the swingarm, I think I may have installed the plate/bracket incorrectly... I put one plate with the U-bolt on the outside and the trail arm and the rubber bushing with the plate that conforms around it on the inside... Have been checking it daily and it appears to be ok. My only other regret is not painting it... but heck if I know what color to paint it anyway. IF you can still get 'em from Cattman for $115 delivered... Do IT!!

i don't recall those bolt sizes listed on my stillen install instructions... their slightly different. Plus the replacement ss bolts I got are the exact replica... socket hex bolts instead of just cap screws from home depot.

Paint it already
VERY NICE! Although I'm not sure about Blue... I was thinking Black or Red. By the way, do you happen to have a pic of the Bar installed near the trailarm? I'm still in limbo about the flat plate... Does it go on the inside against the bushing, or on the outside between the brake line bolts? Thanks!

oh.. well I got the socket hex bolts caused I wanted to be able to use the allen wrench during the install when i'm done there under the car... but good point about the cap screws being longer

I've got the Addco bar on for over 2 years now. Never had to touch it after I installed it. Everything looks perfect, no rust, the finish is still nice, hardware looks like new (well maybe a bit drity), and it never made a sound.

A few more questions:
Addco ppl:
How many ppl have had issues with bolts/parts loosening and how many times if any, had to re-tighten parts?
Both:
I've seen pics of the addco mounted but not the stillen. Which one is closer to the ground when installed?
I know the stillen is hollow.
Is the addco a solid iron rod?
Thanks for all the responses so far.
