RX 300 tint

I was wondering what this type of tint was called the reflective kind of tint. I am going to tint the car soon and was wondering if this type of tint would look good on a majestic blue colored maxima?

I also heard the tint on the RX300's is that the glass is actually tinted not a film, and that this type of tint is illegal?

i believe the tint your talking about is called a metallic tint. its usually very low in light percentage like 20% or something

also the tint on the RX300 is in the glass, thus making it somewhat legal. most states will allow a car that comes with stock tint to stay but you can not upgrade your windws to a window with the tint in te glass

there is a website that has all the laws about tinting for each state but i cant find it right now

I have tint on my 2k2 that looks very similiar to this.

It's actually 3M building tint, aimed for commercial use and not automotive. It looks incredible, and people comment on it all the time.

I paid a lot however, around $230. I went to a shop that did both commercial and automotive tinting; try looking in the phone book.

It's 100% MA and MD legal, I got 35% all around and even have a "MD Legal, 35%" sticker (which I removed and put in the glove compartment).

I could have gotten regular tint for nearly half the price but everytime I see my car I'm glad I went the distance...

a professional tint job here will cost you about that, $250. mainly for the reason that any tint on your front three windows in NJ is illegal.

now that tint you got, its like a mirror? cause i know the commercial tint your talking about and its like a two way mirror. cant see in at all. but the tint im thinking of has more of a faded look to it then a mirror. personally i think the mirror tint would look the best on a silver car.

Not mirror white like the buildings, but this I think is due to the Nissan OEM tint (that 70% green stuff). I think the OEM stuff along with the new gives me that RX300 look.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow. One thing though, I don't much care for is that when light conditions are low it's not nearly as dark. When it's out in full sun it looks amazing and you can see yourself in it well. At night you almost don't notice it.

well in cananda, where i live its illegal to tint the front windows (driver passenger) only the rear back windows

i was thinking if i was to go with regular tint i would tint the front 2 85% and the rear and back window 35%

but if i was to go with this reflective tint i would only do the back windows

Is the car already tinted to 70% all around? They are in the states at least.

I bet you could get away with 70%, it's really not very tinted at all. My windows were actually done with 45% tint, combined with the factory stuff to give approximately 35% (i.e. be legal).

Go to a local tint shop. This tint is called Platinum Plus, and it comes in two different shades, I think 50% and 20% light throughput. I can't remember who makes it either, 3M or Llumar. Any good tint shop will know what it is. It's not too Mirror like, but does have a slight reflective quality to it. Personally I really like it because in certain lights it even looks like its not reflective.

It's a Grand Prix, but it has Platinum Plus window tint. Check out the pics here http://www.jchoefer.com/gtp/pic-frame.htm You'll be able to see at different angles how the tint looks.
