Worthless Windguard for Sunroof 2002 SE

Well, I decided to take it off this weekend (It must of had 20 cracks running up it, some making it all the way to the top!). Can I just walk into the dealer with it and ask him to put me on the list for a new one. I called the other day, and they wanted me to leave the car with them for the day so they could check it out (Yeah right!) Are they going to bust my chops about taking it off myself?

Wind Deflector

I pointed out my issues when I was in for an oil change.....they just put me on the list, as it's on a national backorder. I thought I heard somewhere (probably here), that Nissan may even be attempting to try to find another manufacturer for these. It's been 3-4 weeks on mine....just waiting around.

Mine's been on back order since May. What a joke. They're expecting a new shipment early October, however apparently there were massive quality issues on these from the original supplier.

i've had my 2k max for almost three years with no issues on my wind deflector, but there is a 'long term' review of the maxima (about three months... i don't see how this could POSSIBLY be considered along term, but anyhow..) they had the same problem with the deflector and the cracking issue at www.freshalloy.com

to answer your last question, tell them you took it off because you were concerned the cracked windguard would scratch the paint. They'll secretly be happy you took it off, so they didn't have to repair scratches caused by their failed product.

just make sure you keep it to "prove" you had one in the first place.
