It could be the fact that you are in Colorado (high altitude), use of cheap gas or 87, your aftermarket intake may be confusing the ECU, who knows? You posted a similar complaint almost two years ago and didn't follow up on what happened when you tried 91 octane. In any case, try returning to your stock intake and use good gas for a while. Also, clean your throttle body if you haven't done it before. I have found that I get smooth starts when I wait a few seconds before I crank up the car. When you insert the key in the ignition, wait until you hear three beeps, that's usually enough time for the fuel pump to pressurize the line. Good luck!

I get rattling sounds like tapping sounds when I first start when it's cold, after 20 secs, it all goes away. Clearances probably opened up a bit or could be synthetic or just because it's at 50g miles... if it goes away, I think it's ok. I dump some Techron in it once a while and if Chevron is available I get it. It helps with knocking too. I get knocking now too. Could be deposits or spark plugs or coils, I don't know and I seem to now care too much anymore. The car runs, out of warrenty, Nissan service sucks. oh well, I'm blabbing...
