Cigarette Lighter powered when car off

Is there any way to make it so that the cigarette lighters still have power when the car is off? My mom's 01 Suburban and my dad's 00 Camry both have this feature but the max doesn't! This comes in handy when one is trying to charge their cell phone while they're out somewhere. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

If something shorts or draws to much you will have a dead battery.

Piece o cake. Cut the positive wire on the cigarette lighter. Crimp it. Run to + constant or directly into fuse box.

don't worry, the worst you could do is kill your battery. Be careful not to leave stuff that draws constant power (like a laptop) plugged in and you should be fine.

Try the plug on the back of the arm rest above the back seat cupholder. I think i remember reading in my manual that receptacle(sp?) will still draw power when the engine is off. I think, but i've been wrong once or twice before.

Kind of indirectly stated, but for 2001 it was on page 2-21 of the manual...

For the 2K2, this is accessory position switched as well. You have no juice unless the keys are in it and turned to the first position.

I'm not sure about other yrs.
