Try this on for size...

So I stop by the local Nissan dealership just to say hi and see if I can sneak a peak at a 350Z, now all these guys know me as I worked there as a part time tech while I was in the Coast Guard. So the owner walks up and says would you like to sell your car? Now I was in there a couple weeks ago trying to buy a 03 and they talked me out of it, having me wait for a 04. Apparently someone walked in the other day looking for a white AE loaded five speed, just so happens I own one of these, so ten minutes later I’m the proud owner of a 03 SE Silver/Frost leather loaded six speed that should be in Mon/Tue (dealer transfer). Yes!

Are you saying they traded you STRAIGHT across for it?

If so, what about your financing or did you own it outright?

I saw a BLACK 350Z(non-track model) two nights ago, so I stopped and walked around it 2-3 times. MAN THAT'S ONE FRIGGEN BADA$$ LOOKING CAR!!!!!

The G35 coupe is going to be tempting, VERY tempting.

You got a great deal for your trade, but you got completely hosed on the Max. You pretty much paid MSRP. Did you even ask to see the invoice? If it is loaded, you probably paid about $2500 too much for it, depending on options. But your trade in makes up for it. Plus there are probably rebates available for it.

And by the way, the story that "someone was looking for your car yesterday" is the oldest dealer lie in the book. You should know that. You worked there! You've never heard that one? It makes you think that they really want your car and they are willing to pay top dollar for it.

Drive by the lot in a week and say hello to your old car because it will still be sitting there unsold.

I'd grade your purchase as a C+. But congrats anyhow!

"fully loaded" not some stripper model.

Asu is accurate with his statement about your trade in and generally I would agree, but you never know, you did have a 2K1 AE 5 spd. and that is a rare car, they might have wanted it.

never look back man, everyone has always got some great lie deal. Like Newman said you got a pretty good deal, nuff said.

MSRP on a fully loaded maxima is above $30,000

What's the invoice price? For a fully loaded Max (NAV, Meridian, everything), he should have paid closer to $25,000.

But again, he made out like a friggin bandit on his trade. So after further evaluation, I will grade this purchase a B+. He should have only gotten around $17,000 in trade for the AE.

my maxima was 28750 with nothing, no options. but i heard that there is a one car that comes out per month that has no options. thats what the salesman told me. i dunno if thats true. but we kept negotiating with him and he gave it to us for 21995. so you can always bring down the price and maybe even get for less than 30000 for a fully loaded maxima, assuming its a 2k2/2k3.

Ignore the morons. If you are happy with your deal then that is all that matters. People here go out of their way topoint out everytlittle thing they think is wrong with everything.

Anyway, congrats on the car dude. I wish I had a 2K3.....

Man you guys are rough, as far as getting a 03 SE with Titanium/Meridian/Frost Leather for 25k your misinformed (ask your Mom what she really paid), MSRP on that is $30k+, invoice is around 27k. There are no incentives on the Max at this time other than a three percent holdback that is used for advertising and is fairly standard on most makes. $19,800 for my AE with 30k miles is a sweet price. My car is in mint condition, and the fact that someone wants it is the troof, as they could have sold me this car weeks ago when I was in trying to trade it and they talked me into waiting for the 04. It’s pretty simple math 30k+ car for 27k allowing 19,800 trade = I pay 7+k difference, not many places to play hide the salami.
