That is offered on this fourm for under $50? What would be the advantage for paying 4 times the price?

Re: Why would you pay almost $200 for a Stillen strut bar when you can get one...

There is no real reason to get the Stillen strut bar/brace over some of the more generic ones sold through group buys here or through eBay unless you want one that looks slick. The Stillen one is arguably the best looking of the bunch. Does it work better than the others? Probably not. So one needs to ask if they rather spend almost $200 for the Stillen or $35 to $50 for one of the others.

For rear anti-sway bars, your choices are really down to two, the Stillen and the Adcco. Again, the Stillen bar looks a bit better and from what I've read, it seems to install a bit easier. Both, however, do the same job about equally well. Price comes to play again as the Stillen is almost $300 while the Adcco is around $150 or less.

some of the cheaper, rounded bars will pinch your windshield washer tube and touch your hood insulation. The flatter bars, like the stillen, will not. However, you are paying *mostly* for the stillen name on the bar... that is all.

Why get a Maxima when you could get a Hyundai Sonata v6? Sure, you may be paying for the name, but you may also be paying for reliability. Stillen will have a better chance of not screwing up your car like an X-brand.

As much as some people here hate nissan service or reliability, I think it's great. (No Nissan did not pay me to say this )

Not to sound patronizing, but how much reliability were you looking to get out of a high-strength aluminum bar and a couple of brackets?

My first mod was a round Courtesy Nissan FSTB (read "generic"). I think I paid $60 or $70 for it at the time. It works great, doesn't touch my hood insulation, and doesn't affect the operation of my windshield washers.

I purchased the Stillen because of the great looks and quality. At the time, this board was ranting on how the other bars didn't fit right and looked cheap. All of the stories of the bars hitting the intake and pinching the washer lines. At no time did i read anything bad about the Stillen. You better believe i would have rather paid the cheaper price but, now i'm glad i made the decision i did. The bar works and looks great. With no problems since the install.

There is something to be said for peace of mind, right MaxSE03?

I had to do a bit of grinding on the the strut tower to install my Courtesy bar. But five minutes worth of work saved me $100.00. And that was worth it to me.

There are other flat FSTBs available at a fraction of the price of the Stillen bar. To the best of my knowledge, their fit and finish are excellent. I'd recommend that anyone interested in purchasing a FSTB do their homework before making a purchase decision. That, of course, is what the search function and the FAQs are for.
