Switch for Neons

I wanted to install neons under the dash on my 2k2 6speed. I want them to be on a switch. What kind of switch would I need...please help...doing the install this afternoon

You have two options, but both will require the same switch. Just a two way switch will do (on/off). It is pretty simple: ground, + voltage, and lead from the neons.

But do you want ot be able to run them while the car is off? If so, you will need to wire it to the turn on (ignition). If not, just run it hot.

go to radio shack or even home depot.

there are all sorts of switches you can choose from.

you will want a SPST (single pull single throw) rated for 12V or higher. when wiring make sure you have some kind of fuse hookup up, either off the neon tub wiring or on the actual switch. and then just do what asu174 said to.

When I did mine, I got a SPST On-Off-On. I wired it to ignition AND constant power. So they go on with the car, but I can turn them on when the car is off too. What I really wanted to do was wire them to the door's courtesy lights, so they go on when the door is opened, but I gave up when I couldn't find the wire inside the car .
