2k-2k1 Leather Seats: Anyone have any problems (cracking, fading, etc.)?

Just curious since the years are flying by if anyone with the 'first generation 5th generation leather (2k and 2k1)' have had any issues with the leather seats, etc. in their cars. Wondering if there are items to be concerned about for us other owners.

Thanks!

Yep

I have an early 2K1 with frost leather and I have a nice crack on my drivers seat, the other seats are fine. About twice a year I treat the leather with Klasse conditioner.

Any particular location? Side bolster? Seat?

Nope

I have a 2001, built 11/00 with frost and no issues. I, however, treat the leather no less then once every 2 months. I sometimes even do it every month. In the winter I do it after a longer trip when I have been transporting people so the leather is warm.

I let the "goop", which ever you use, just sit on the leather overnight minimum, after massaging into the leather. And next morn wipe the excess off. My seat are still soft. My car has 19K miles and sits outside...no internal parking.

Thanks for the input, but I am looking for issues and problems.

I have to agree, I follow a more frequent schedule myself.

I have a 6/99 car, in hot summer climates. Frost.. So far so good..

I've been using Lexol every 6 months since new. I only leave it on for like 45 mins before wiping down.

the only problem I have is were the dealer creased the hell out of it doing work under the dash (his back was on the bottom of the seat and he must have been trying to slide in or out). I was so mad, but thought they didnt permanently hurt the leather, but they did. It hasnt cracked or anything yet. I will probably do a drive by on them if it does !!

A few cracks are appearing on my 2000 frost colored driver's seat near the center "split" on the seat portion. There are some smaller cracks starting to appear on the side bolster on the seat portion as well. I clean and treat the seats every few weeks with either Lexol or Zaino.

I have a few small cracks on the side of the drivers seat. However I think they can be attributed to the use of bad leather cleaner. I know use lexol and have had no problems for the past 9 months or so. Overall I would have to say that the leather itself is not that great. The leather in th2 2k2-2k3's look much better.
