B-Pillar Rattles

I'm down to the last couple of rattles that I care to do anything about in my 2002 SE. They are twins and sound like dueling "light metallic" rattles coming from the seat belt height adjuster area in both B-pillars. They occur when riding over rough road surfaces, such as the eroded/rippled concrete section of I-287 that I commute on each day. It nuts - starting and ending each day with rattles!

I have a really good service department and the tech had gone on a test ride with me to hear the rattles, but we can't reproduce them while driving on the roads in the vicinity of the dealership. The stretch of road that consistently produces the rattles is about 20 miles from the dealership, so its not an option to head out there. The best tack may be for me to handle them myself.

A couple of questions for the group:

- Anyone else had these rattles and how did you handle them? (No stereo suggestions, please. I already blew a speaker in the car.)
- What are the steps for removing the plastic trim that covers the B-pillars? (Detailed please, I'm a rockhead geologist - nerd data manager combination).
- There is bolt that the seat belt height adjuster pivots on. Is it necessary to remove this to remove the cover? If so, what is the proper torque when I put it back in?

TIA for any insights,

John
