New 2k2 SE owner. Have tranny question
I have to preface this with the statement " I love my Maxima". I have owned a number of fast cars including a 450 rwhp supercharged 92 lx Mustang as well as a 98 SS Camaro. I must say that the new Maxima is the best all around car for the price hands down. My 2k2 is an automatic. It seems to lag a bit, or shift a bit rough when it downshifts after I punch it at 30-40 mph. I purchased it with 13k on the clock. Does anyone else have any experience with this or is it just in my head.

Can you tell me what a full Syn ATF flush is?

I assume you mean full automatic transmission flush and refilled with synthetic tranny fluid. Am I right? And if so what does that generally cost and when do you recomend doing that?

Full synthetic ATF such as MOBIL1 ATF is $5-6 each and you need 2 quarts more than your tranny holds for a flush.
Other ATF also have a good rep such as Redline ATF, AMSOIL ATF.

Another choice is to do a flush yourself. It cost a lot less, and it only takes a few weeks. Do a search on it to get the details, but this is basically how I did it. You drain the transmission and refill it with the synth oil (about 2-3 qts), run it for a week and then do it again, after the fourth time you will have flushed out enough of the regular tranny fluid to a point where what remains is negligible and it will be mostly synth. I've never had a shop do a flush, but I don't know how much regular tranny fluid remains in the machine when they do it, plus you hope they don't pocket your synth and put in the regular stuff.
