Just wondering if anyone knows what entails side airbag deployment...I figure front airbags deploy based on impact zone, force, speed, and also keep in mind the position of the vehicle occupants; as far as I know SRS-2 can deploy with various force depending on seat location and the such (correct me if I'm wrong; it's just what I read somewhere)... I'm not really a "Safety" oriented guy, but shouldn't a side airbag deploy if a car is hit straight in the passenger door at speeds between 35-40mph?

Those who have read my angry post earlier in the evening will know what car I'm talking about... it WAS a 2000 Max..
