Help I am tempted to buy a Max soon
Help I am tempted to buy a Max soon
Guys,
i originally came on here since a link was posted on NICO
http://www.nissaninfinticlub.net
About a Q45 vs Maxima thread ,were I had to rise to defend the Q's honor and educated a couple of people.
But his is such a interesting board (and I had a lot of time on my hands lately) that I never left, even tho my Moderator duties on NICO take quite a bit of my time.
So now I am starting to like the 5th gen Maximas a lot...
Even tho I am very happy with my gorgeous 91 Q45 burns no oil almost everything is in "as new" shape etc etc.
But I am beginning to think about buying a Maxima....
Partially becasue I miss manual trannies soooo much and i think teh 5th Gen Max is a great value new or used.
Performance wise My Q is roughly similiar to a 5th gen Max.
A bit slower to 60, but a lot stronger above 60.
I know this is supposed to the Max' strong point as well, but trust me the Q is stronger at those higher speeds.
Anyway, maybe I am just rambling, but I am single, not destitute and crave a newer car.
But can i justify it with tons of college loans still hanging over my head and my current car still performing great and getting lots of looks?

Fred,
You know best your financial situation but if I were you, I would pay off any lingering loans that are of no future value to you. If your Q doesn't cost you more than a couple of thousand a year for upkeep, I'd stick to it. Let me put it another way, shiny new Maximas are everywhere but shiny well kept Q45s are getting rare.
