Help! I've abused my Max by neglecting it!

My 2K SE just went over 70K....the only maintenance I've put into it have been oil changes(and I'm about 6k overdue for one) and new brakes(which are flipping warped again but thats a whole other thread) and some new rubber.

I was going to trade it on a Hyundai GT but after some bad dealings with a dealership and seeing the pitiful trade in a Maxima brings I've decided to stick it out with my Max.

I was thinking I was just going to have them do a 60K service on it but I don't think it is worth the money for what they appear to do in that service so I may just give them a list of what I want done.

Here is the list, please feel free to comment on what I do.do not need done or anything to add...

1) Oil and filter change, going back to dino from Mobil One-24.95
2) Automatic Transmission service Drain and Fill-59.99
3) Cooling System Service-44.95
4) Computerized 4 Wheel alignment-59.99
5) Rotate and Balance-39.99 maybe?

Anything else you can think of?

Remember, I havent done anything except oil and air filter changes

AIR FILTER!!! I'm assuming they'd look at that when doing an oil change, but if it's never been done that's a biggie.

Item 2)
be sure to get a complete tranny FLUSH (not just "service") then a pan drop and be sure to get a new filter too have them show you the old filter , so they are not too lazy to do what they are payed for.
Dealer often doesnt like to do the filters and might deny their existence altogether.

If needed; take it to a tires plus or something, I have found those places the most eager to accomodate the customer.

item3)

be sure to get a complete cooling system flush NOT just a radiator drain and refill.

Big differnce.

Doing items 2) and 3) right will cost about twice than what you are quoted but its well worth it.

Whoops, I quit reading prematurely. My bad. I read oil and filter changes and assumed oil filter, and didn't catch that air filter remark at end of post. On a side note, I put in a K&N drop in filter for like $50 and noticed absolutely no gains whatsoever except a loss of $$$. So yer better off with stock or Fram or whatever. No dyno done though, so I guess I can't confirm there wasn't a .0002% increase in HP.

Might think about injector service. May be able to do that yourself with some good fuel additives. Just a thought...

Good point :

many Nissan dealers offer BG44k injector rail flushes, much much better than anything we could do at home with an additive.

overdue 6k on oil change? that's a lot.....and I dunno if ur oil filter can handle this long period. anyways....u can always rotate ur own tire and if the steering wheel or the body is not vibrating at high speed. u dun need a wheel balance.

2.auto tranny drain.....a DIY, this is like oil change but it will take a bit more time to add correct amount of ATF and make sure u will need to drain it a bit more after the ATF is broken in. I would prefer to drop the pan and clean the magnet. The most important service listed is the auto tranny drain.......

I'll probably have the dealership do all the work....I don't have time or the place to do it.

I'll probably get all that stuff done this Thurday or Friday......

Then comes the brakes...

Thats 450 i wish I had back and had Nissan do it...5k on brakes and warped already....hmmmmph..

Do you mean you paid someone other than a dealer $450 for a brake job? That's more than the whole 30k service for my 4x4 Trooper!

Yeah..I certainly did...thats what I get for thinking that going away from Nissan rotors would solve my brake problems...guess Bendix sucks more than the OEM ones do.
