Max gearbox and suspension thoughts

Max gearbox and suspension thoughts
Wanted to get some thoughts a couple things.
How do people like the 4 SP Auto? Do you ever find that the car is "hunting for the right gear"? One feature I've read about that I like about the TL type S (5 SP Auto) sequential shifter - it's reportedly very smooth (more so that the Porche/Audi Tiptronic in fact) - & the extra gear would make for some extra punch going through the gears.
Also, the Maxima's lack of a true independent rear suspension supposedly makes rough surface cornering a bit skittish.
Dollar for dollar, however - it seems that the Max is hard to beat.

The 4sp Auto is a good thing to have in heavy traffic, however it severely limits the flexibility and power of the engine. Having the 6spd is so much better not only for the fun factor but also for being able to squeeze as much as possible from an otherwise excellent engine.
As far as gear hunting goes, it's subjective. While cruising in highway speed all i really need to do is slide the shifter to 3 to get an instant response when accelerating. Otherwise it'll take time for the tranny to unlock the TC and go to 3 (e.g. it depends on how hard you mash the pedal). On slower cruises (sub 60mph) you can accelerate in 4th or 3rd thought he tranny will go down to 2nd if needed.
My only gripe about the whole transmission is how quick the shifts are from 1-2, it would be nice to keep 1 a few rpm's longer before it upshifts w/o having to step on the gas more than needed (e.g. WOT).
As for the Multilink RBS, it's good on flat surfaces and good roads though it shows it's weakness when it comes to rough roads and bumps/dips on the streets.
