I noticed a 2001 max anniversary edition the other day and I was wondering if I could get the kit for my 2002 ?? I like it because its subtle and not too low or outlandish like other kits I seen.

 

the front lip wont fit your '02 & i though the side skirts come stock on '02???

 

The sides are pretty close to the same as the 02. The rear and front are different. According to some, the rear will fit as well.

 

The sides are different than the 02, but nonethless will fit if you remove the 02 sides. I also believe that the rear will fit on an 02. I have pictures on my homepage if you want to see the rear.

 

I believe the following is correct when applied to the 2002+...

For the actual AE body kit:

Front skirt - does not fit.
Side skirts - fits, but need to remove the existing skirts.
Rear skirt - fits, but rear exhaust tip will pose a problem since the AE had tips that pointed downward (like the I30 of that year).

For the AE aero kit (Nissan-made to give '00 and '01 Maximas the AE look):

Front skirt - does not fit.
Side skirts - fits, but need to remove the existing skirts.
Rear skirt - fits, no modification needed.

The side skirts are similar, if not the same, as the 2002+ skirts, so you probably wouldn't need those. The Nissan-offered AE aero kit rear skirt actually looks a lot different from the rear than the actual AE rear skirt, but it accounts for the fact that all other non-AE 5th gens have exhaust tips that point straight out instead of down.

 

The AE side skirts are different from the 02 side skirts. The are more boxy and brings out the underside of the car more. Versus a more beveled 02 skirt which still follows the lines under the car. But AE aero kit as an accessory does not come with the middle piece in the rear for the above reason but I still believe that the non-AE exhuast would clear with the middle peice. Also, only the aero kit as an accessory comes Pre-painted.
