Is there a way to get the rear windows to

go down all the way? Why in the world do they only go half way?

They can't go all the way down because of the rear wheel well. Look at the door and see how it curves for the wheel well (compare our doors to a Suburban and you can see why). To get the window to go down further would require some modifications to the entire window unit. You would have to have the window do something like the integras where one corner goes down further.

wow....i never thought of it like that. I always thought it b/c of safety reasons

me too! I never even paid attention to the door before. I started looking at the picture and i was like wow..

Have you guys ever noticed that the rear windows were actually larger that the front windows? I hadn't paid any attention to it until I saw this thread.

This is why if you notice on the first gen LS400s, the rear window actually shifted in the angle to allow it to go further down.

Cars back in the 70's even did this. Think it was some of the big boat luxury cars: Cadillacs and Buicks.
