How easy is it to swap 2k2 HIDs to my 2K1?

All the people with 2k or 2k1s with the 2k2 HIDs, please let me know how hard was the swap, and how to do it, and if there are any complications with the whole thing.
thnx

There are a few how to's out there. you need to splice on new connectors and do some other minor wiring.

1. Remove the old headlight assembly by removing the top two screws on the bracket. Then remove
the H4 plug on the back and remove the turnsignal plug. Then slowly just pull out the assembly.
2. Next is to Cut-off the H4 plug and the TurnSignal Plug. This will leave you with a total of 6wires
that will be used for with the 2K2 Headlight Assembly. Here is the in-depth breakdown of each wire:
Turn Signal wires
RED/Yellow - Parking lights +
BLACK - Ground
GREEN/Yellow - TurnSignal blinker +
H4 Wires (Driver Side)
GREEN/Yellow - Ground (LowBeam)
BLUE/White - Ground (HighBeam)
PINK/Blue - 12Volts
H4 Wires (Passenger Side)
BLUE/Black - Ground (LowBeam)
GREEN/Black - Ground (HighBeam)
ORANGE/Black - 12Volts
3. All the plugs are black, no color coded wires here, all
the same. This does not make it easier
for me to explain it to you, so follow me
as best as you can in this MESS!
Now the Green/White Wire that goes to the parking lights,
that should be spliced to the RED/Yellow wire of the
Nissan Harness. The Ground wire (which is the middle
black wire) should be connected to the BODY of the car this
will ensure that the Xenons don't turn off when the
Highbeams are turned on.
Now the RED wire which is the Xenon 12V wire, should be
spliced to the 12Volt wire (PINK/Blue or ORANGE/Black
depending on which side) of the Nissan Harness. Also
that needs to be spliced to this wire is ONE of the wires from
the High Beam Bulb.
4. Here is the Wiring for the TurnSignal plug on the 2K2 lights. Now I chose the left "black" wire on
the turnsignal plug for the positive and the right "black" wire as the ground. Now it does not matter
WHICH one you use, just as long as you hookup the right NISSAN wires to this plug. Now one wire
gets the GREEN/Yellow wire from Nissan TurnSignal harness, and the other wire gets the BLACK
wire of the Nissan TurnSignal harness. Now you are done with this plug also.
5. Now this is the LAST plug left on the 2K2 lights, the HighBeam plug. Now once again there are no
Colors here, so just use whichever one you want, as long as you connect it to the CORRECT
corresponding wire then you will have no problems. Now unused wire from the HighBeam Plug
should be spliced to either BLUE/White or GREEN/Black on the Nissan Harness. The other wire
should already be spliced with the XENON wire which was hooked up to the PINK/Blue or
ORANGE/Black wire on the Nissan Harness.
6. Now lastly you need to remove the
White Clip that holds the old headlight
assembly from bottom frame. You can
remove this clip by sticking a screwdriver
underneath it and pushing really hard.
Don't worry if you break it because you
won't need it. If you got the CORRECT
2K2 clip for it, then install it now. If not,
you can do without the clip for now.
This is NEEDED for the 2K2
lights to fit, the old clip will not fit.
7. Now all you need to do is carefully slide in the Headlight assembly and fit it in there. Once it is
fitted in there correctly, put the TWO mounting screws back in the top to hold the assembly.

My set has the connectors, clips, instructions, everything. If you know how to cut and strip wire you could put these in in an hour or less. It's an install kit and not just a pair of lights.

I am not sure how much of a DIYer you are, but dont let it "seem" to complicated. Its really not. Just take your time, draw out the connections before you cut and waa-laa. HIDS.

If you have wired up anything before...its just a matter of matching proper colors and deciding which writeup to use.

I hear ya, I've rewired my fogs, so I'm ok with that stuff, it's clear write-up, and most of all gettting them stolen i'm worrying about.

The fact that your from SI, NY, which seems to be one of the "hot spots" I'd probably shy away from HIDs until the thefts go down.

Especially, if you don't have a garage to park in at night.

Questions though.

Who lines up the turboprop blades like that though? Is it normal operating procedure or just for pics?

Also, are the two turbines auxillary thrust for take off or constant use? Any idea on their thrust rating?

Thanks.

Which writeup did Bugnout repost? I am about to order some HID's, and I wanted to wire the HID's to always stay on. Its been so long since I have read the write ups as they have all been taken down. Any one remember if this write up will always have the HID's on- both high and low beam?

Not to be a PW but to answer your question...

Its a Boeing KC-97L Stratofreighter, a cargo version of the B-29. Its powered by 4 Pratt&Wit R-4360's rated at 3500Hp each and 2 GE J473 Jet rated at 5970 lbs of thrust each.

The jet engines are used to increase both the speed and altitude (used whenever needed)

Currently this aircraft has been replaced by the KC-135, and as you may have guessed from the word 'replaced' (it was retired in '73) it is on an inactive runway on display as they would leave the props whereever they stopped.

If you wnat to see a bunch of other cool aircraft visit the AF museum in Dayton OH!

I have a 2000 max and I just put 02 headlights in it. I don't see how your wiring diagram worked? The headlights and highbeams work off of a negative throw.I bought mine from courtesy Nissan. For a cool grand you get the headlights without plugs or harnesses. I was going to let them install them ,but not for $516. I spent about twenty five dollars on wire loom, heat shrink, 2 thiry amp relays and 14 gauge wire. You can use the factory headlight wires for the xenon low beams. One of the wires in the three wire factory headlight plug loses ground when the high beams are on. I

If you are an airplane buff, this is THE place to go...hands down. We are not talking a small, couple of planes museum. We are talking two VERY large covered annexes full of aircraft (think being able to put about two B-29 tip to tip. PLUS you have many runways of other equipment and I am not sure if they still have the back annex or moved that equipment up front.

My favorite day/exhibit was when the SR-71 came to town. What a pretty plane. Maintence HOG, but beautiful!
