feeling guilty.....

Been spending more time on svtperformance.com drooling over the modded 03 cobra than here. I guess this is my confession, someone forgive me.

somehow i knew you would reply to my post. Like yourself I had a stang, mine was a 96 svt cobra. Its crazy the power and times those 03 cobras are laying down. I keep telling myself its just a mustang, poor resale value, but yet I find myself at the local svt dealers....Keep telling the wife the suv is good for the kids and camping, dont need 2 vehicles with 4 doors. Ive already got my 19's pre-sold to a buddy with a 2k2 max, man this sux I need therapy.

I've actually driven one with a Bassani cat-back, and the SC pulley upgrade... There is no way you can launch that thing hard and get any kind of traction.... .. I had to ease it out the hole, and you can run a 12 easily.... Throw on some drag radials.... .....

I would love to have one, but I keep telling myself that I wanted a performance sedan..

Don't feel guilty. I'm sure many of us would choose another car if we could. The Max is a great versatile car that fairly luxurious. It takes care of family needs, moves pretty quick, and looks good, and has great interior room.

The Cobra Mustang is what I really wanted but it was a little to expensive (although a great value), has only 2 door, useless back seat, and the wife can't drive stick. I plan on taking great care of my Max so that when it's paid off it will have plenty of more life in it and then I could get the car I really want. Of course that's five years from now, but hopefully I'll be able to afford an SVT Cobra or it's equivalent by then.

I tell myself this......If its anything less than a Mustang SVT Cobra , I don't want a Mustang. (meaning no Base or GT) Mustangs...lol....

If I had a choice to get 03' SVT Cobra (A FORD!) or a Maxima 6spd? He He....you know I'll feel guilty too

LOL

I know they make an automatic, 4 door, Marauder with about 300 hp and RWD. I took a hard look at that before picking the Max.

Just had one roll by me a few days ago with dual 4 inch pipes out the back... Reminded me of how my WS6 used to rumble.....

Aaah, the good old days.

Let's go back shall we

Had a 1985 TransAm with a 305 and a screaming chicken on the hood. Thought it was fast at the time till I had my a$$ beat by a rusted out 71 Nova.

Had a beautiful 69 Mach 1 Mustang w/351 Windsor. Had an electrical problem and went up in flames.

70 Chevelle SS with a 396. Bought the LS6 in a crate from GM but never installed it. My daily driver was a 74 Malibu hoopty. My brother rebuilt the 350 in it with a few go fast goodies. Suprised the hell out of some people.

89 5.0 Mustang LX. Great car. Stolen on LI, NY. Ronkonkoma train Station.

92 5.0 Mustang LX. Great car

Then married w/children.

2000 Galant ES V6 and now the Max

I swear I will have a V8 with RWD again.

Damn I love the new cobra, cost more than the new I35's (like 10 grand more than the max) I was actually thinkin bout gettin a GT instead of my car.

The marauder is cool, but the car is HEAVY. Im not saying I wouldn't rock one of those, but it's 1/4 mile times are comparable to mine. Handling must suck too. Looks hot though, all the blackout trim

Wow.. shall we talk about the good ole days..... I live in Cali, but I am from Queens NY. I bought my 89 Lx from Wantagh Ford.. not far from Ronkonkama... I used to ditch school and hang out at McCarville Ford... where all the Saleen guys used to rip it up... Long drive from Queens , but worth it... Yes my Stang got stolen once..... but that didnt happen till I moved here to Cali ! They stole 5K in just Fosgate stuff..... MY WS6 was an " IMPULSE" Buy.. we drove buy , saw it.. My girlfriend, now my wife said : " That looks like the batmobile.."..... , so I went to the dealer and haggled for 3 days, til I got it for what I wanted... I owned a Stang and a WS6 for about 4 years... Talk about Car Club meets ! .... Ok. I know I am boring all the import guys.... well... I know a 2K3 Cobra is inevitable in my future...

Never raced on Franny Lew. Did most of my racing on Deer Park Ave and a little on Hempstead Tpke. Remember how fast those damn Grand Nationals were? especially the GNX.

Yeah DPA's cool also, just further from my house than Franny. GN's are still fast, just not that common.
