Isn't the turning radius too big on the 2000+

I try to make a U turns and i can't make them in one shot. Also in the parking lots, the same problem

You can see that if you turn the wheel all the way left or right you see that there is about one and a half turns, which is not enough

This is i think the biggest disadvantage of the new Maximas

Do any of guys think there is a way to change it?

This has been discussed a lot here. If you have the SE with the 17" wheels, your turning radius will suck. It seems that there are stops that don't allow the wheels to turn any further. I really don't think there is anyway to make it better...just live with it I guess. From what I have heard, the GXE or GLE don't have this problem, as far as I know.

The stops are adjustable, but of course you have to be careful of tire rub - I might play with that when it gets warm (didn't get my shop manual right away). I have an SE with 16s, the turning circle isn't very good. I think Nissan cheaped out and used the same steering on the 2k as on the earlier cars and didn't change it for the longer wheelbase.

I have another qustion

If i put 235/45 on the 17" wheels can it do any harm to the car when i turn the wheel all the way.

Also i don't know if any of you guys getting average of 18 mpg. My dad calculates it all the time and he think it is too much.

235/45 tires are too wide for the stock rims. Check out . . .

Are you sure there are on your stock rims because the stock rims are only 7" wide and in order to put 235s you need 8" wide. Don't you loose performence on turns when you put a bigger tire size for the rim?

235 is a really tight fit on 7" rims. In hard cornering, you run the risk of the tire actually popping off the rim. Although, size differs slightly with every tire manufacturer, so I guess it is possible to put 235 on 7" rims in some cases. To be safe though, I would not put on 235's on 7" rims.

What tire are you using and for how long?
