Stillen S/C for VQ35
Stillen S/C for VQ35
FYI
Might have been mentioned already, but over at freshalloy.com they have pics of Stillen's new S/C prototype for the 350Z. Apparently, the final version will be good for an extra 70 hp.
Seems like he's having some "issues" with fitting everything in the engine compartment.

Stillen screw type blower
I was at Stillen yesterday, the blower they are using is a screw type blower, sits on top of engine. The complete is not finished yet, but they did start it up and run it. When they announced the start up, there were about 100 people standing around it, and it was quiet as a mouse. A lot of dissapointment, they wanted loud noise. If you want to see pics, I'm sure if you go to West Coast, they'll post pics. See ya,
i saw them start it and drive it off.. it had some crazy squeeling sound like a squirrel got sucked in there and died. It was total stock sounding when they drove it away
forgot to mention that the guy that was revving it at like 2000 rpm max for the crowd actually couldn't fit his bald a$$ in the car at first, and then he stalled it while he was revving it...

Re: Re: Stillen S/C for VQ35
I can just see the installation manual for this kit now...
Step 1) Apply stencil to hood.
Step 2) Take jig saw and cut along perimeter of stencil.
Step 3) Have a good cry because you just cut a big opening into the hood of your $30K sports car...

disadvantage of root SC : heat, limited boost pressure, noise, need space
disadvantage of centrifugal SC : lack of low end boost
source : Supercharged! by Corky Bell.....nice book btw.
