Need help finding/purchasing '00 - 02 MT Max

I'm looking to purchase a manual tranny max in the next two months. I've been doing some prelim. searching online and have had no real luck finding any max's w/ manual trannys. For those of you who've purchased used Max's, how did you go about your search (for a manual)? I live in the chicago suburbs. THanks

Autotrader is a good start. You can quickly get a feel for what's available in your area. Cars.com also has good listings as well as a black book calculator. Of course, the Chicago Tribune probably has a lot of listings too. The trick is to check the newspaper and online ads regularly so you'll know when a good deal is posted. After you've narrowed down your search, run a Carfax report and call Nissan to check the repair history of the car. If you are not experienced, pay a pro to carefully inspect it for mechanical problems and previous body repairs.

what are you looking for?

I've got a 00 max gxe MT sunlit sand with about 32k I might be interested in selling. It's only mods are a FSB and all synthetic fluids. I don't drive it much because I'm a little **** with it. My lady either takes off her muddy shoes before getting in or she walks. Needless to say she rather take one of my piece o'crap cars.

btw I wax the inside of my door sills too

Don't buy the Max!... Your TypeS & the Max will "go at it" like a couple of drunk frat-boys, when you park it in the garage!...

You should have some luck at the dealerships... even the BMW, Infiniti & Acura dealerships, cause that's where Max owners go to find their next "fix" They are really dealing now that the NEW cars are moving quickly off the lot at a few grand above the used-car bluebook value.
