Does this sound right?
A friend of mine has the same car (2000 I30). She took it into the local Infiniti dealer and was charged $1,200 for the 60k mile service!
They changed "all the fluids"(tranny, oil, antifreeze) and she needed the front & rear brakes done. How could that come to $1,200? Comments?

for $1200 she should have also gotten free oil changes for life and a back massage to go with that fluid change.
In other words, your friend got ripped off!
unless...
What do you mean by front and rear brakes done? Just the pads? the whole brake kit? Maybe thats the reason.
Makes me appreciate the Nissan dealership just a bit more.

It seemed too expensive. She had the rotors cut and new pads. I do most of what I can for my Infiniti myself and try to avoid the dealer as much as possible. She did have a 10% off coupon so saved ~$120

How complete is the brake job?
Brand new rotors, maybe calipers too? that's half the price right there.
If they did a real tranny flush=$120 minimum.
A cooling system flush done right takes some labor too (not just a rad drain+refill).
It's high but certainly not unusually so, IF all the services were complete flushes properly done.
Plus the extent of the brake work..if brakes completely redone..
Yeah, its hi but its not neccessarily a freely invented charge either.

Kinda seems like a little too much stuff for a 60k. My dealer quoted me $385 for the 60k...but I have a long way to go before I get there...

Should have an itemized receipt. Check it and see what they did and question anything that's out of line. Depending what they did, that may not be far off. Dealers charge high labor to cover overhead.
