Car stalling with Stillen Intake

Car stalling with Stillen Intake
I installed a Stillen Intake on my 2000 Max in January of this year. Almost 10 months and almost 6000 miles later,my car feels like its going to shut off almost every time I come to a stop. It used to stall every now and then, but as of late it has been shuting down more frequently. Im tempted to take the intake off and go back to stock.....uuuughhhh! Do any of you guys have this problem and what kind of intake are you using? Are there any solutions to these problems? Any input would be appreciated.........THANKS

I have a 5 speed and I had the same problem, I took the car to the dealer and they told me it was the ring or clamp that connects was loose he told me he tightened it up and it should be ok. I have had the car back a week and i have not had the problem again.

I have this same problem. In fact I have had it for the past few years. I put on the Stillen intake and the cattman Y pipe. It sometimes turns off. Mine just dips below idle and it seems as if it is going to turn off but it doesn't.
I took it to the dealership a long time ago and they told me that it might be the MAF. They said they couldn't test it at all and that I would have to buy a $500 MAF and put that in instead. I never did it and dealt with the problem. It sure would be nice if it was fixed though....

I have an auto 2k1 running with the injen cai for over a week now and yesterday the car almost stalled by itself right after ignition. It kinda of shook a little, sounded like when the clutch catches wrong during 1st, RPM's dipped, but it held up... whew.

It seems a lot of 2K manuals had a problem with RPM's dropping below idle and stalling. The next time you're at the dealer, make sure they check that the ECU has the most up-to-date codes. I had the same problem, and updating the ECU fixed it.

someone might have said this already, but youre losing air before it gets into the motor... while at a lot rpm, too much of the air coming in through the filter is going back out by the midpipe (the plastic box with the accordian thing) if you took out the scoop, theres a hole that brings the air in.. if that is open, air comes back out of that hole and at low rpms its not getting enough air to the engine which is causing it to stall..
i had this same problem when i had my 95.. i had a cap on it but it fell off

It is probably not your throttle body - although it can't hurt to clean it. The throttle body is the metal part that the throttle cable hooks up to. If you follow the path of air flow to the engine it is behind the accordian plastic piece.
I had the "stumbling" problem even when I had my stock intake on. Turns out it was ECU related and when I took my car in for the fuel cut TSB (which I recommend those who have 5spd 2ks do) I got them to "mess with" the idle and fix it.
I've also had this problem when air gets in behind the MAF. Check there first to make certain air isn't getting in behind it.
