Newman and Mightima, who did you ask about painting the grill. There are a lot of shady businesses around town and wanted to know how you decided on who to go with. How many coats of clear was applied on top of the color?

i had mine done at a local Chevrolet dealership. (the nissan dealer here doesnt have a body shop) not sure about the # of coats thought.

yeah the grill has to come off. it is very very easy to remove. remove the 3 bolts along the top edge (left, right, and center) and give it a tug from around the nissan emblem until it pops off.

sorry Mightima for hijacking your thread.

I was thinking of getting mine painted body colored last week but it has been raining on and off here for a while. Now I know that I am definately going to get it done soon. How long did it take to get the grill painted? I rather leave my car at the body shop than drive the car without a grill.

another shot.

to Perrymaxima,
It might only take an afternoon to get the work done, depends on how much time they spend on your car. Better make sure they have the material(matched paint) ready for your grill.

Not a problem, Newman. Your ride really cool!

to 2K255HP,
Yes, they took it off to have it paint, they will need to send it first.

Your shots are still just tease shots can we get one head on from a distane and one as if you were looking strait at the car but so that we could see the whole from on the car. The Angle shots and the shots right on the grill just aren't giving us the overalll look of the painted front grill! You can doit

take it easy, Perrymaxima. I'll take some for you this weekend. Don't expect me grabbing the camera and do it now. That side shot is the best I can do from what I've got now.

Tripower,
I had it done in Santa Clara, named DaLes auto body.

Mine in White Pearl

Hey gang here are a few pics of my newly installed painted grill and woodgrain dash install. Please sign my guest book and let me know what you think. I also removed my chrome wheels and went back to stock GLE rims, because the chrome just did not give me the look I'm looking for. New 18's this spring, any suggestions!!!

2000 and 2001 grills are not removeable. they can be taken out by cutting them but that is a permanent removal.

yeah, I was thinking the same thing, but I can live with the amble side markers or the red in the back. But the orange piece in the headlight is much annoying to me.
