Advance timing...need help
I went to my schedule maintance today, and ask about the advance timing thing, hoping they will bump it to +2-3 degrees.
Since I read about this quite alot thru this forum, I thought it's a no brainer.
However, the nissan guys were giving me funny looks and suggesting me not to. Anyhow, the tech said he'll try.
3 hours later, they say 'they were not able to do it'.
Many other org. guys did it. But since I am mechanically challenged, I can't really argue.
To say the truth I have no idea what 'kind' of timing am i advancing, or what 15 degree to 18 degree stands for, or how to tell them what needs to be done.
So please, for those that's much smarter than I am, can u please tell me exactly what I should tell them so I don't look like a fool who just want a faster car. Any other related info is greatly appreicate too.
Thanks!

'Were not able to do it'....what horsepucky
Just tell them to hook up the Consult II & page it to where they check ignition timing at idle to verify that it's at +15 degree BTC (the stock setting) and ak them to bump it up using the Consult II itself.
They may tell tell you that they're not really supposed to do that (they're really not) in which case a) slip the technician a twenty or b) find another more performance-oriented dealer
