2k2 - Power loss, tranny problem?

This morning while driving into work my car, 2002 SE, automatic, 12k miles, no mods, had a complete lack of power. I would accelerate and it would go, but not the typical max go. Normally high passing from 80mph to 90mph was instantaneous, this morning, I floored it took about 10+ seconds. RPMs increasing very slowly in all gears, like it is really struggling. No check engine light, no odd sounds, no odd smells, the parking park was not engaged, no visible obstructions in the exhaust. It was running fine last night. This may not be related but it is worth mentioning, I had my oil changed on Friday, and that is the only thing that has changed besides a fill up yesterday afternoon. What might be causing the problem?

Thanks.

Try a bottle of dry gas..also sounds like when others have described their MAF sensor going out...go to dealer

Driving from work last night and to work this morning everything seems to have returned to normal. Power restored. Is this a preview of things to come if it is truly the MAF failing?

from what I have been reading and hearing about the MAF failures "tend" to cause loss of power, being unable to go above 3500 rpms... so it could be a possibility..

Just take it in for service the NEXT time your car is like that.. take it to them when it is not operating corectly

to verify it is not a tranny problem...rev ur engine at neutral and see if the rpm will go up.

try disconnecting ur battery and reconnect it and see if the problem is resolved. but, since ur car is still under warranty...just let dealer take care of everything for ya.
