weak rear struts

My 03 has really weak rear struts, they feel as they have 90k miles on them. Bottoming out is constant problem, even when I have no items in the car/trunk. I have had Honda's and Toyota's in the past and never have to take them back to the dealer. My one experience with taking this car back was a nightmare. I just know they are going to tell me there is nothing wrong, just like my complaints to them concerning rattles, rear suspension clunk and hesitation on tip in. I have 3xxx miles on this car and it has been nothing short of a huge disappointment. Anyone else having this/these troubles?

RE: My 03 has really weak rear struts, they feel as they have 90k miles on them. Bottoming out is constant problem...

All four of my struts feels like that and the service tech keep telling me nothing is wrong. So I'm just going to rip those cheap POS out and get good aftermarket spring and struts. Problem Solved

Good luck with what ever you decide to do, but the only way to get rid of the mushy feeling is to change something. Try changing the springs first, if it's still not stiff enough for you, try changing the stock struts.

Yup, My 2K1 felt like it had Jello at each of the four corners. The RSB tightened the rear end a little but it just made the diving/squatting sensation more evident. I replaced it all with H&R springs and KYB shocks. No more frumpy ride.

Thanks for the feedback, too bad Nissan could'nt put decent struts on their "sport" edition Max in the first place. Now I have a brand new car that I have to replace worn out new struts as soon as it leaves the dealer. What a disappointment. My wife wanted a new 350Z but Nissan-never again.

Nissan is CHEAP when it comes to this, I was driving to work this morning and looking at the ACURA's the Bimmers and these cars have a very aggresive stance and they seem to handle good. WHAT DO WE GET A FREAKIN 4x4 look.

I've noticed the same problem; go over a speed bump with a full tank of gas and 'whump" as the springs bottom at the back (this at about 2 mph)... And the dealer told me it was because the back springs are "stiff" - that's pretty funny...
