What to use to Clean Floor Mats

Whats the best way to get deep stains out of mats. I just cleaned my mats last week and it didnt get them fully clean. The way I did it was to take the mats inside to the basement and put them in the utility tub. I pre-treated them with 3M Automotive stain remover. Then I took Detergent and mixed it with water and went to town with a scrub brush. What else can I try to get the stains out???? I think I might just have to buy some new mats.

I pour a little Woolite in a small container with water and swirl the mixture around making lots of suds on the top. I scoop the suds off the top (not too much water but a little) and apply to the stain with either a sponge or brush. I usually apply the solution to the entire mat. I then scrub in all directions with a semi-soft bristled brush. I repeat the procedure then vacuum with a ShopVac. I use a hair dryer to dry them out or let them sit out in the sun for a bit.

I used to soak them in a tub full of oxyclean (bought off the infomercial). It used to work along with those foam scrub carpet cleaners.

I also used the shopvac to get the water out. When I opened up the lid to pour out the water I was amazed at much dirt still came out.

I regret buying a car with a light interior, these carpets and mats are so easy to stain. Has anyone tried using a steam cleaner?

If you get your mats really clean... scotchguard them.. that way you'll only have to worry about the dry stuff

I've used the wand wash for years with good results. I first use the soap setting and then rinse. After the mats dry, I spray them with Scotchguard and then vacuum them. Works really well and I do it about 4 times a year.

i've used it in different cars and always get the same results: carpet looking very very good. Search for "folex" and you'll get more info.
