Some SUV hit me this past weekend, so my car is in the body shop to get fixed. So I have a 2k2 Max now. Heheheh. The car has some serious ***** on the low end. That extra 14 lb of TQ really makes a difference between my car and it. Highway, my car feels a bit stronger, but its really really really hard to tell.

I forgot how quiet the VQ was...

I can't stand the interior anymore or the handling. Feels too open to me and a bit cheaper. Damn I got spoiled!

I notice the 2k2 has a hesitation, if you let off the gas and get back on it, it seems it coughs or somethiing. It that normal? hehe.

But overall this car has some serious *****. I punched it at a 10mph roll and holy crap you gotta hold on.

I do think I have similar things about the hesitation issue...





As I've always said, the interior on a Cracura looks like an engineer designed it and marketing approved it, while the Maxima interior looks like a marketing person designed and shoved it down the engineers' throats.

Does the rental have leather interior? Bose? If not compare apples to apples! I have a question for you when you drive the car in the morning does the Bose cd-changer skip until the car warms up?

 

It doesn't actually say Bose on it.

But it has the tape and 6 disc changer. I haven't tried a CD.

No leather. I think its a base SE.... Not even a sunroof.!

My Bose skips like hell until the car warms up! I complained to the dealer about the radio and they ordered me a new one without even turning it on to reproduce the skipping or the left side cutting out. Should be in this week....so they say. I'm getting ready to just rip out the head unit and go with Alpine.

 

I didnt think the standard CD had 6 disk? I thought only the Bose had the 6 disc changer?

 

I love driving my dad's CL-S. I also had the opprotunity to drive the 2k2 Maxima as a rental. I have to be quite honest, I think that 2k2 max is a tad faster then the Acura. MAybe I'm being thrown off by the way the acura shifts, but the 2k2 seems to just fell lighter. who knows, but I agree the Acura's interior quality is much better then the Nissan's

 

I have been putting up with the damn skipping for a year and I can't take it any more at first it only did it in the morning now it does it when ever the car gets cold so when I leave for work it skips went I go home take a nap or something and go back out it skips it's annoying as h3ll!

 

mine hasn't started skipping yet but I guess its another flaw of this hunk of junk car

 

All last winter no skips, now that it is cold, freakin thing is skipping like mad.

 

I have 10k on my 2k2 and it skips like hell when the temp is 50 or below until it warms up. Drives me insane so I'm gonna do the sound system sooner than expected.

 

I guess I ought to be glad that I have the base (non-Bose) system in my Max. No skips...yet.

 

Good luck! I've already had mine replaced since it just stopped working and the CD mechanism gave me ERR codes.

 

I have the blows system and I haven't had any trouble out of it yet. lets hope it stays that way . Hopefully the chit speakers will be getting replaced fairly soon.

 

Today morning when I was warming up the car and leaving for school, 3-5 minutes after it was warming up I put a cd in and it skipped! I was like no....the people at maxima.org warned me about this. I thought I had the only 2k2 Maxima that worked fine here, Now I am just another statistic.

Also Russ, the base system does not have a 6-cd changer, if it doesn't say bose there, check if theres a subwoofer in the back, if not

One more thing Russ, like the other member said before: TAKE IT TO THE TRACK!

 

Yes the Base system does have it, we have it in our 02 and the rental we had 2 weeks ago from Hertz had it. It was an 03 and Hertz even have some with Sunroofs now!
