New Guy

I just bought my wife a new 2003 M with all the extra's. I must first say I'm a ford guy and I drive a 01 Lightning and love the hell out of it. But I'm very impressed with this 03 Maxima. If there are any tips, or suggestions on how to get the most out of it please let me know.

Welcome to the org,

Strut bar/sway bar combo first definitely. The boat-like Max needs it.

definitely get a rear sway bar first to eliminate body roll and enhance handling performance.

The front strut bar should come next to stiffen the chasse(spelled wrong i know) and it complements the rear sway bar very well.

Next comes an intake (either Frankencar or Place Racing).

And then ya gotta drop the b*tch(meaning the car not your wife).
I'd recommend the H&R Springs with the modified KYB AGX's

Then do the VB mod and buy a tranny cooler.

Once that's done get a whole new exhaust set up which consists of
getting an aftermarket y-pipe, take out the stock cat convertor and throw in a race pipe, then get yourself a custom cat back exhaust.
Me personally...I like dual tips.

After all that you can then install Nitrous Express kit 20923
with their genx2 kit plus remote bottle opener.

After having fun with that for a little while you might wanna upgrade to a custom turbo kit or a supercharger (you're call).

You might wanna get subframe connectors as well from Warpspeed (if they ever finsih them anyway )

and let's see...did i miss anything?

welcome newbie. Don't spend to long on this site...it becomes addictive and very expensive. Check out my homepage for some possible ideas of future mods. Ask me any question you may have. Happy modding.

When he said M I thought he meant M45 Welcome to the org and the world of Nissan cars, although I have a friend with a lightning, and they are tight. You should try and make the maxima faster than the lightning, at least you'll have ONE sleeper in the family.

I'm not sure about making the Maxima faster than the Lightning It already runs 12.37 @ 109 in 1/4. What are the Maxima's running. And who would be a good person to talk to about a turbo, of course after all the traction upgrades. By the way this may sound dumb but what is a M45 (BMW????)

the m45 is the new infiniti car that is coming out if not out already that i believe costs about 45k? im assuming you have an auto because you bought it for your wife, so the 1/4 is between id say 14.7-15.0 stock. and trap speeds around 90-94 i believe. there is no turbo out for the 3.5 engine (2002-up). oh and you may wanna replace the stock tires, to put it simply they suck.

Protect the paint

There are a lot of complains about Maxima's paint quality. Some people used 3M clear plastic to protect the appearance. Check out old threads.
