For those of you have have a SUNROOF WIND DEFLECTOR read this....
I took mine off about 3 months ago & once I took it off I noticed a thin RUST COLOR LINE were the Sunroof wind deflector made contact w/ the body of my car? Anybody else notice this? Also how do you remove this b/c regular meguilar car soap doesn't work, I've tried clay bar'ing it & nothing? Has this ruined my paint forever?

Same thing here. Mine cracked, so I took it off. My car better with it it off, but that that line annoys me. Im not getting another deflector.

Replaced mine with a stick-on from Windflector, much better I think. Mine came off first week of ownership (was looking warped and the screws were tearing the weatherstrip on the glass!!!) and everything came off easy, no residue.
Dunno....sorry, I guess this post is not helpful at all. S&%^t...

I took mine off and removed as much of the line as I could. Debated if I wanted to put it back on and said to myself that the wind deflector is now a 'part of the car' and put it back on
kafene.

Look in your bathroom cleaning supplies and try something that removes
rust, scale and lime deposits. Try dabbing real small section with product diluted somewhat with water. If rust comes off on cotton ball
then do the whole thing then hose it down good with water.

wonder if that will work
using bathroom cleaning supplies to take off marks on the paint sounds a bit risky, especially if your doing trial and error.
i know when i took my deflector off, i had etch marks on the paint from the deflector's virbation at high speed. nothing you can really do about that. i clay-barred the area then i put on a good coat of klasse and stuck the deflector back on.

almost everyone who has a sunroof wind deflector for an extended
period of time will have the same problem.
It's practically inevitable.....has something to do with the
wind and friction and little bits of sand and such slowly grinding
away.
I've got the same problem too....

is this a joke or are you for real? i dont wanna try this & then find out you were just kidding
coke is very acidic. people use a can in the toilet to remove stains. it will remove rust.
if you have rust on your car already, that really sucks some ***. the paint must have completely came off on that section.

Naval Jelly removes rust, but it also removes paint! If the rust is on the inner part of the sunroof (the roof closes against it) then I'd say take the chance and dab a little naval jelly (use Q-tip) on the area to stop and remove the rust. Remember, naval Jelly removes paint!
If you don't wanna go this route try a lil steel wool (geen synthetic kind not the steel threaded kind). It all depends where the rust is, I think the most important thing is to stop and remove it. Otherwise it will spread.

When I took mine off a couple of months ago I found it had left and indentation in the clear coat. It looks like it was put on before the paint was completely cured and or while it was hot outside. It was also put on way to tight which is also part of the problem not only with the paint but with the problem many of us have with the deflector cracking.
The dealer wanted to sand and repaint the whole roof of the car. LOL no way! I plan on having the high spots buffed out the taking it to a local touch up shop to have the clear coat re-sprayed in that area and then buffed again. For anyone living in the Atlanta area this place does great work --> Southern Colors
