Whats a VB MOD???
Adjusting or retooling your A/T valve body to have sharper, more precise shifting, wasting less power during shifts. Usually removed from A/T and sent to someone and replaced in car. Search might help, I can't remember the guy who does them here in TX that everyone seems to use. I'm sure someone else will chime in.
Does that help?

VB mod done
Well here is my thoughts about VB mod done by Jeff on LI. Under the recomendation of Jeff from Maximum Tuning I had this done to my 2k2. He advised me to get the stock option upgrade, the first of 3 levels. Here is my impression; I don't race, cross country, or drag just some spirited driving from time to time, but who doesn't with this car. At first when I pulled it out from Jeffs shop I noticed that the car jumps into gear very quickly. A little disconcerning at first, its like a thud when the gears change instead of that ultra smooth shift we are used to. At first I thought what a mistake. It shifts much smoother when you drive it spiritedly. In traffic it jolts into gear (bumper to bumper),rough to get used to. At first gas milage was off, due to the fact that I kept jumping on the car so that I could feel the transmission jump into gear and blow by everyone from a stop start. Now after blowing by everyone I've calmed down somwhat and to my surprise the mileage has improved. For those who are on the fence about this upgrade the shift from 1st to 2nd is hard; if you like easing into gear think about it, however if you want to bring this car to the next level this mod has to be done. I also had the tranny cooler from B&M installed. The work took 2hrs to complete all right in front of you so that you can see and ask all the questions you have as to the benefits this mod will give you. Jeff and his tranny guy are true Pro's.

A lot to ask but
Do any of you guys go to NE meets? It's a lot to ask, but would any of you guys be open to letting me be a passenger in your car at a meet that we can both make, for a run around the parking lot or block?
This way I could get a feel for it before its done to the car and then I possibly don't like it. I don't think I'd like thudding into gears. I only like that feeling when I'm driving a manual kinda close to the envelope.
Have you guys eve asked how easy it is to reverse this mod, in case one does not like it?
thanx
