Has anyone painted their taillights to match their car color. I am thinkningof painting my SE tails to match my car.(Super black) I would love to see some pics and hear some feedback on how hard it is and how it has turned out.

 

There are a few guys that have done this.

One that I remember is a sterling mist maxima.

It looks pretty good.

 

Has anyone thought about smoking out the chrome sections of the 2k2 tails?

 

It's been discussed, but I don't think anyone has actually done it. I beleive EMax recommended against opening the tails, I forget why, but he's done it before so I trust him. However, it's not impossible, because the Street Concepts Max has smoked tails (and headlights too).

nope...since SE lights are so close to black anyway, I would not really bother...

I know on my black AE the SE tails are just fine....

My 2000 SE has the smoked tails as well, but i was tossing around the idea of painting them black to match or swapping them out for the 02's. I can't decide what i like better. I love the 02's but I don't like the orange lense they have. I want my car "Orange free"

 

Of the two choices, please paint your current ones!! Keep your back end 'Altezza' free!!

 

See that's exactly what I think. i like he smooth look of the black car with the dark tails. What kind of paint owuld I use and where could i pick it up.

Yes I have painted tails. I was going to it myself, but then I said, f*ck it. I brought it to a body shop and they did an excellent job. Still looks new after over 7 months.

 

i remember i did a poll of who liked my tails when i first did them.. last year aug 2001.. no one liked them now i see everyone doin it.. just goes to show you how judgemental people can be..

i still say my tails and anything i did to my car is HOT!
