2K GLE 3 year 21,000 mile report

I bought this rig 8 months ago when it had 13k on it for $19,750. Local trade, 1 owner, exquisite shape, all the options except for NAV. First thing I did after the new oil in it had 3k on it was change it to Amsoil 5-30 Synthetic + Amsoil Oil and Air filters. Been thinking seriously about changing out the ATF to full synthetic also. Only Mods done was to put on some good looking license plate frames and install clear side markers. I believe the AE doorsills and headlamp upgrade are the next mods. My mods seem to be on the more on looks than performance.

Only warranty work done was to change O2 sensor and reprogram the ECU 3 weeks ago when the check engine light came on. Dealership was very courteous friendly, and professional. The Tech even put down paper floor mats and seat cover before he got in it and the whole procedure only took 90 minutes. Waiting room had lots of magazines, coffee and cookies plus a new 350Z was parked just outside to look at. Car was washed, dried and vacuumed before I got it back.

No problems to report on the performance of the car. The rotors seem very smooth, gas mileage is about 370 per tank, Tires are still in great shape (Goodyear eagles stock) I rotate them myself, no squeaks, rattles, wind noises, leaks, auto climate, or Bose problems encountered.

For those of you that have the 2kGLE with more miles logged, are there some things I should be looking out for down the road? Your comments and suggestions would be appreciated. I plan keeping this car for a least 5 years.

Welcome, and glad you had a good experience. I too have good experiences (SO FAR) mostly, bad other times. Just depends on the day and the weather. ;-)

Good luck.

Watch out for those rotors. Many 2k and 2k1 owners have had problems with their stock rotors. The problems are warped rotors and can be shown by vibration under braking. Mine went out at about 35k.

Other than that I have had no problems.

I second that. You may also encounter some "clunking" noise when you turn your steering wheel left. I believe it has to do with one of joints in the front right spring (theres a TSB on it).
